'The Artist's Wife'

The majority of my work is created from direct observation and is highly personal. I am inspired by the people closest to me, my personal environment as well as memory and experiences, from past to present. In my most recent portrait works, I am trying to capture the character of the sitter, the mood, the emotion. I work primarily in charcoal when drawing as it offers a freshness and ease of altering with an eraser, much of the drawing is actually executed with the eraser itself.
